Abstract [sv]

Kroniskt obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) är en kronisk, långsamt progredierande lungsjukdom. I Sverige beräknas 400 000 -700 000 personer ha diagnosen KOL - vars orsak bero framförallt på rökning. Syftet med föreliggande arbete var att belysa hur patienter med diagnosen KOL upplever sin vardag. Metoden var en litteraturstudie som genomfördes i databaserna Medline, Cinahl och PsykInfo. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar ingick i arbetet och alla hade en kvalitativ ansats. Resultatet visar hur patienter med KOL påverkas fysiskt, psykiskt och socialt. Andningsbesvär var de symptom som påverkade patienterna mest och kunde variera från dag till dag. Begränsningar i vardagen så som att inte kunna utföra de aktiviteter eller arbetsuppgifter som de tidigare hade kunnat utföra men även bundenheten till hemmet var andra aspekter som lyftes fram. Slutsats: Att ha sjukdomen KOL innebar ändrad livssituation och olika strategier gjordes för att kunna hantera det dagliga livet och därmed få god livskvalitet.

Abstract [en]

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a disease with a slow progressive procedure. In Sweden estimated 400 000 -700 000 people have been diagnostics with COPD due primarily to smoking. The aim of this study was to illustrate how patients with the diagnostic COPD experience their everyday life. The method was a literature review searched in database Medline, Cinahl and PsykInfo. Ten scientific articles were included in the study and they all had a qualitative design. The results showed how patient with COPD were affected physically, psychologically and socially. Breathing problems were the symptoms that affected the patients the most and could vary from day to day. Limitations in everyday life such as not being able to do those activities and tasks that they could before but also the confinement to the home were other aspects that were highlighted. Conclusion: To have COPD means a change in the everyday life and different strategies were made to be able to handle the daily living and get a good quality of life.
