Integration är viktig både för elevernas skolgång och deras senare intåg i samhället som välanpassade medborgare. På grund av detta samband är det viktigt att bedriva vidare forskning inom detta område. Syfte med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur lärare från fem skolor upplever integrationen av elever med utländsk bakgrund i den svenska skolan samt hur deras arbete med mångfald och integration ser ut. Studien använder en kvalitativ metod med tonvikt på genomförandet av intervjuer för att uppfylla syftet. I resultatdel redovisas studiens bearbetade empiriska data i tre teman, och ett subtema, som identifierats genom forskningsmetodens analysmodell. Studien konkluderar att det behövs ett större fokus på samverkan mellan skola och olika aktörer. Vad respondenterna lyfter fram ett flertal gånger under intervjuernas förlopp är att samverkan med föräldrar i mångkulturella områden är av stor vikt, men inte alltid lätt.

Integration is important both for the students' schooling and later integration into society. Because of this causal link between school and society, it is important to conduct further research in this area. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate how teachers and other staff from five schools experience the integration of pupils with foreign background into the Swedish school system and how their work with diversity and integration is done. The study uses a qualitative method with an emphasis on conducting interviews to fulfill the purpose. In the results section, the study's processed empirical data is presented in three themes, and one sub-theme, identified through the research method's analysis model. The study concludes that there is a need for greater focus on collaboration between school and various actors. What the respondents highlight several times during the course of the interviews is that collaboration with parents in multicultural areas is of great importance, but not always easy.
