Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien var att ta reda på vilket sätt sysselsättningen är betydelsefull för personer som lever med psykisk ohälsa. I Bakgrunden betonades att flera personer i den studerade målgruppen ville att deras sysselsättningsplatser skulle vara trygga, stärkande och präglade av delaktighet. Det framgick också att sysselsättningen främjade möjligheterna att upprätta vänskapliga relationer. Hur en stressreducerande och god psykosocial arbetsmiljö bedrivs lyftes också fram som en viktig aspekt i förhållande till psykiskt välmående. Metoden som användes för att samla in studiens empiriska data var en semistrukturerad intervjumetod. Analysprocessen innefattade en tematisering av det insamlade materialet. Urvalet bestod i personer som lever med psykisk ohälsa och som har sysselsättning. Resultatet visade att sysselsättningen uppfattades som betydelsefull för informanterna i studien. Framförallt betonades att sysselsättningen var en viktig faktor när det kom till att hantera stress, känna sig trygg, utvecklas, delta i en gemenskap samt återfå rutiner i tillvaron. Konklusionen med studien visade att sysselsättningen var en plats som uppfattades som betydelsefull för personer som lever med psykisk ohälsa.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study was to find out how employment is important for people living with mental illness. In the background, it was emphasized that several of people in the target group wished to see that the places from which they receive employment from should be more safe, strengthening and characterized by participation. It was also presented that employment promotes opportunities to establish friendly relationships. Furthermore, how a stress-reducing and good psychosocial work environment is conducted was also highlighted as an important aspect in relation to mental wellbeing. The method used to collect the study's empirical data was a semi-structured interview method. The analysis process included categorization of the collected material. The selection group consisted of people living with mental illness and who have an employment. The result showed that the informants expressed and perceived that employment is important in their every day life. Above all, it was emphasized that employment has been an important factor when it comes to managing stress, feeling safe, developing, participating in a community and regaining routines in life. The conclusion of the study was that employment is perceived as important for people who live with mental illness.
