The purpose of this study is to explore and understand the experiences and level of knowledge professional social workers obtain about honour violence. The study is based on four semi-structured interviews with social workers within the social services in Malmö city. The interviews made it possible to discuss the professional’s directives, or lack of it, the uncertainty the social workers experience while working with clients who are victims of honour violence. These topics are discussed and analysed through the theory of intersectionality that is mainly presented by Tina Mattson. What is exposed by the results of this study is that the social workers knowledge seems to be limited according to themselves and there seems to be a lack of solid support to handle these cases in terms om directions.
