Bakgrund: Arbetsrelaterad stress är en av de vanligaste orsakerna att drabbas av sjukdom. Arbetsbelastningen för sjuksköterskor är hög och ter sig att öka. En av de största orsakerna till arbetsrelaterad stress är hög arbetsbelastning. Ett sätt att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress är att tillämpa copingstrategier. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att belysa copingstrategier sjuksköterskor använder för att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress. Metod: En litteraturstudie baserad på tio vetenskapliga studier med kvalitativ ansats. Sökningar efter vetenskapliga studier gjordes i PubMed, Cinahl och PsycINFO. Resultat: Fyra olika kategorier framkom efter en innehållsanalys. Dessa var: Att finna stöd, Avkoppling, Reflektion och Planering av arbete. Att finna stöd delades även in i tre subkategorier: stöd från familj, stöd från kollegor och stöd från religion. Slutsats: De copingstrategier som hjälpte sjuksköterskorna att hantera arbetsrelaterad stress var att finna stöd, avkoppling, reflektion och planering av arbete.

Abstract [en]

Background: Occupational stress is one of the most common causes to be affected by illness. The workload for nurses’ is high and appears to increase. One of the main causes to occupational stress is a high workload. One way to handle occupational stress is to apply coping strategies. Aim: The aim with this literature review is to illustrate the coping strategies that is used by nurses’ to handle occupational stress. Method: A literature review based on ten scientific studies with qualitative approach. The search for scientific studies was performed in PubMed, Cinahl and PsycINFO. Results: Four categories were identified following the content analysis. These were: to find support”, relaxation, reflection and planning the work. To find support were divided into three subcategories: support from family, support from colleagues and support from religion. Conclusion: Copingstrategies that helped nurses’ to handle occupational stress were to find support, relaxation, reflection and planning of work.
