Abstract [sv]

Osteoporos eller benskörhet, är en folksjukdom som vanligen inträffar i samband med åldrandet. För att kunna diagnostisera, upptäcka och följa frakturrisk i god tid är det bra om en bentäthetsmätning görs. Bentäthetsmätning eller bendensitometri utnyttjar metoden Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). För att kunna bedöma metodens reproducerbarhet rekommenderas att periodvis genomföra en kvalitetssäkring vid bentäthetsmätning, eftersom det är en kvantitativ mätning. Syftet med studien var att kvalitetssäkra metoden för bentäthetsmätning. I studien utvärderades både interindividuella helkroppsmätningar och intraindividuella mätningarna på ländrygg, totalhöft och lårbenshals på 92 redan inbokade patienter. Reproducerbarheten angavs som minsta signifikanta skillnaden (LSC), root mean square standardavvikelse (RMS SD) och variationskoefficient (%CV). Reproducerbarheten i den interindividuella studien var god med låga värden för LSC, RMS SD och %CV. Även i den intraindividuella studien var reproducerbarheten god med låga värden för LSC och RMS SD. %CV understeg de av International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) rekommenderade maxvärdena, vilka är 1,9 % för ländrygg, 1,8 % för totalhöft och 2,5 % för lårbenshals. Studiens resultat visar att det finns en mycket god reproducerbarhet mellan undersökarna som utför bentäthetsmätning på denna klinik. Abstract [en]

Osteoporosis is a general disease that usually occurs in connection with aging. To diagnose, detect and follow fracture risk in time, it is recomended to do a bone density measurement. Bone density measurements or bone densitometry utilizes the method Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA). To assess the reproducibility of this method, it is recommended to periodically conduct a quality assurance of bone density measurement, because it is a quantitative measurement. The purpose of the study was to assure the quality of the method for bone density. The study evaluated both inter-individual whole body scans and intraindividual scans of lumbar spine, total hip and femoral neck of 92 already booked patients. The reproducibility was identified as the least significant change (LSC), root mean square standard deviation (RMS SD) and coefficient of variation (%CV). The reproducibility of the inter-individual study was good, with low values for LSC, RMS SD and% CV. Also the intraindividual study the reproducibility showed a good reproducibility with low values for LSC and RMS SD. The %CV were below the maximal recommended values by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), which are 1,9 % for lumbar spine, 1,8 % for total hip, and 2,5 % for femoral neck. Study results show that there is a very good reproducibility between investigators who perform bone densitometry measurement at this clinic.
