Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Onkologisjuksköterskor vårdar, stöttar och har tät kontakt med sina patienter och patientens familj dagligen. Därför är de en av de yrkesgrupper som är utsatta för stress och utbrändhet. Utbrändhet är kopplad till arbetsrelaterad stress och definieras som ett tillstånd orsakat av långvarig stress i yrket med tät människokontakt. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av utbrändhet inom onkologisk vård. Metod: En litteraturstudie som baserades på tio vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ design. Datan insamlades genom databaserna PubMed och CINAHL. De valda artiklarna analyserades för att kunna besvara på studiens syfte. Resultat: Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av utbrändhet hos sjuksköterskor som arbetade inom onkologisk vård identifierades och uppdelades i tre olika kategorier och sex subkategorier. De identifierade kategorier var: Upplevelse av utbrändhet hos onkologisjuksköterska som individ, Upplevelse av utbrändhet som är relaterad till relationen mellan onkologisjuksköterskan och patienten, Upplevelse av utbrändhet relaterad till arbetsplatsen och organisationen. Erfarenhet, Överdrivet engagemang, Stress i privatlivet, Nära kontakt med patienten, Emotionella påfrestningar, Brist på kunskap, Arbetsrelaterad stress var de underkategorier som identifierades. Konklusion: sjuksköterskor som jobbade inom onkologiskvård upplevde utbrändhet när de vårdade svår sjuka patienter, blev utsatta för långvarig stress och jobbade i en stressig miljö. Utbrändhet hade också negativ inverkan på deras privata liv. Nyckelord: Medkänsleutmattning, Onkologisk vård, Sjuksköterskor, Upplevelser, Utbrändhet.

Abstract [en]

Background: Oncology nurses care, support and have daily close contact with patients and their family. Therefore, they are one of the professional groups who are exposed to stress and burnout. Burnout is linked to stress and is defined as a condition caused by prolonged stress in the profession with close human contact. Aim: The main aim of this literature study was to highlight the nurses' experiences of burnout in oncological care. Method: This study based on ten scientific articles used as a basis for this study in a qualitative design. The articles collected from PubMed and CINAHL's databases to answer the aim of the study. Result: Nursing experiences of burnout were identified and divided in three different categories and six sub-categories. The identified categories were: Burnout experience of oncology nurse individually, Experience of burnout related to the relationship between the oncology nurse and the patient, Experience of burnout related to the workplace and the healthcare organization. Work experience, Excessive Engagement, Stress in Private Life, Close Contact with the Patient, Emotional Stress, Lack of Knowledge, Stressful job were sub-categories identified. Conclusion: Oncology nurses experienced burnout by caring to critical cancer patients. They were also exposed to prolonged stress effected by stressful environment.
