Abstract [sv]

Stroke drabbar årligen ca 25-30 000 människor i Sverige och är den tredje vanligaste dödsorsaken. Det är en sjukdom som slår hårt för dels den drabbade och dels de anhöriga, då mycket kan bli förändrat mot hur man levde innan sjukdomen. Som sjuksköterska finns man med i många olika roller kring patienten under rehabiliteringen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa patientens upplevelse av att ha drabbats av stroke och hans upplevelse av den vård han fått, ur dels patientens och dels vårdpersonalens synvinkel. Frågeställningarna var: Hur upplever patienten sin sjukdom? Vilka önskemål har patienten kring omvårdnaden? Uppfyller sjuksköterskans omvårdnad strokepatientens önskemål och behov, dels enligt patienten och dels enligt sjuksköterskan själv? Metod: Litteraturstudien bygger på kvalitativa studier. Resultat: Strokepatienten upplever stora förluster i samband med stroke. Han/hon önskar mer information kring sin situation och mer tid med sjuksköterskan. Rehabiliteringen brister i viss mån vid hemkomsten. Sjuksköterskan upplever att hon ibland inte räcker till och hon har ett önskemål om bättre kunskap inom vissa områden. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskan har flera olika ansvarsområden kring den strokedrabbade. Detta kan resultera i tidsbrist där bl a patientens informationsbehov inte tillgodoses. Resultatet utgörs av fem olika teman: Information, förluster, rehabilitering, hemkomst och utbildning.

Abstract [en]

Stroke strikes every year approximately 25-30 000 people in Sweden and is the third most common cause of death. It is a disease that can be devastating not only for the patient, but also for his/her relatives because of the big change in life that may be the result of the damage the stroke brings. As a nurse you have many different roles in your work to rehabilitate the stroke patient. The purpose of this study was to illuminate how a patient hit by stroke felt about his situation and to investigate how these patients’ best can be supported from both patients and staffs point of view. Questions were: What are the patients´ experiences about have been hit by stroke? What are his/her wishes about the nursingcare? Does the nurse succeed in fulfilling the stroke patients´ wishes and needs according to both patient and the nurse herself? Method: This literature review was based on qualitative studies. Result: The strokepatient expire many losses related to stroke. He/she wishes for more information and better knowledge concerning their situation and to spend more time with the nurse. The rehabilitation doesn’t always fall out as expected when the patient arrives at home. The nurse sometimes feel that she has lack of time to fulfil the patients needs wish for better knowledge in some areas. Conclusion: the nurse has several different responsibilities according to strokepatient. The outcome of this can be less time for the patient and therefore the need of information might not get satisfied. Result: The result consists of five different themes: Information, loss, rehabilitation, to come home, education
