Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Stroke är en av de vanligaste orsakerna till funktionsnedsättningar i Sverige och drabbar såväl anhöriga som den som insjuknar i stroke. Det innebär att hela familjen påverkas. Att införliva en familjefokuserad omvårdnad skulle gynna familjen i helhet och även den strokedrabbade i dennes vårdförlopp. Syfte: Att sammanställa anhörigas upplevelser när en familjemedlem drabbas av stroke. Metod: Litteraturstudie baserad på 10 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ ansats. Analysen genomfördes med en innehållsanalys i 5 steg. Resultat: Anhöriga upplevde en förändring i familjerelationerna när en familjemedlem drabbats av stroke. Det innebar en påverkan på de anhörigas liv och de behövde ta ett större ansvar för den som drabbats av stroke. Anhöriga upplevde både psykiska och fysiska besvär i samband med detta. Konklusion: För att hantera och förstå den nya livssituationen har anhöriga ett behov av stöd, kommunikation, information och tillgänglighet till sjukvårdspersonalen och den strokedrabbade.

Abstract [en]

Background: Stroke is one of the most common causes of disability in Sweden and affects relatives as well as the stroke victim. That means it affects the whole family. To incorporate a family centered approach would benefit the family as well as the patient in the care process. Aim: To compile the experiences of family members when a relative is affected by a stroke. Method: A literature review consisting of 10 qualitative scientific articles. The analysis was conducted with a content analysis in 5 steps. Results: Relatives experienced a change in family relationships when a family member suffered a stroke. It changed the life situation of the relative and increased their responsibility for the stroke victim. Relatives experienced psychological and physical troubles in connection with this. Conclusion: To be able to handle and understand the new life situation relatives have a need of support, communication and accessibility to the nursing staff and to the stroke victim.
