Either living alone or together, routines will form around the technologies in the home. This thesis looks into the everyday coordination within a home environment. With the intention to create a physical prototype that eases routines or delimitating them down to something pleasant. Augmented from the research was the question of how can we release ourselves from the grip of the smartphone while still keeping the high trust level that it possesses. A prototype is therefore presented as a means to solve the routine of using the smartphone as an alarm clock, thus keeping it unnecessary close to the user before and during the night. This proposal is derived from the research and continuously tested and co-designed with the intended users.
