Abstract [sv]

Denna kandidatuppsats är skriven av två studenter på fakulteten Kultur och Samhälle vid institutionen Urbana studier på Malmö Universitet under vårterminen 2018. Uppsatsen är det avslutande arbetet omfattande 15 högskolepoäng för att erhålla en kandidatexamen i Fastighetsvetenskap. Alla respondenter som har bidragit med tankar, kunskap och erfarenheter till vårt arbete vill vi verkligen tacka, utan er hade vi aldrig kunnat skriva vår uppsats. Vi vill även tacka alla personer som har läst igenom vår uppsats och bidragit med feedback för att vi ska kunna korrigera den till det bättre. Abstract [en]

This study aims to examine how real estate brokers perceive working with a commission based salary. The empirical data has been acquired through eight qualitative interviews held at different offices in Malmö, Sweden. By using theoretical frameworks the questions of the study has been answered. The result indicates that real estate brokers perceive the commission based salary both positively and negatively. The salary is the main motivation for real estate brokers and has a positive impact on performance. The lack of security the compensation model means are considered being the most negative part of it and lead to anxiety and stress. To reduce the lack of security but at the same time maintain the motivation all real estate agents in the study would prefer a compensation model where the commission based salary is complemented with a fixed salary.
