Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The digital development has affected organizations as well as their work process and a large part of the digital development has resulted in a broad use of enterprise resource planning systems (ERP systems). The investment of an ERP system can have different purposes however at the center for the investment of a new system, or development of an already existing one is normally efficiency of work process. The implementation or update of an ERP system is a common project in many organizations. In relation to project management there are a great many applicable philosophies and methodologies. The realization of a project implementation of an ERP system could have mean having to deal with a project touching two or more organizations. This study will examine how linear project methodologies (sequential process) and agile project methodologies (flexible process) could be combined in a single project. The results shows an interface pointing out three main factors of success: frequent contact, transparent communication and decentralized collaboration. Organizations actively working with increasing the level of these factors will automatically also see a positive impact on the level of collaboration between the various organizations involved in the project.
