Vi har valt att inrikta oss på den agila utvecklingen som ämnesval till denna uppsats. Den agila utvecklingen handlar om ett nytt tänkande när man arbetar i olika projekt. Ämnesvalet omfattar information om dess innebörd, olika metodikformer samt en studie baserad på den agila metodikformens utformning i praktiken. Förutom relevant litteratur inom ämnet grundar sig studien också på en enkätundersökning som har gjorts på ett antal olika företag i Sverige som arbetar inom detta förhållningssätt. Anledningen till varför vi har valt just detta ämnesområde är att vi har inom hela vår treåriga utbildning studerat det agila förhållningssättet och även försökt att tillämpa samtliga agila metoder inom olika projekt. Vi har också uppmärksammat att detta förhållningssätt börjar bli mer populärt att använda sig utav i företagsvärlden. På grund av denna förkunskap har vi försökt att gå mer in på djupet vad det agila innebär både som ett förhållningssätt i sig och för företagens del. De resultat vi har fått fram utifrån våra intervjuade företag har visat en väldigt positiv syn på det agila tänkandet och man förespråkar en ljus framtid. Det agila manifestet som är grundpelaren för det agila tänkandet kommer att leda dessa företag mycket mer i framtiden.

We have chosen to focus on the agile development the subject of this essay. The Agile development is a new way of thinking when working in projects. The subject for this essay includes information about the meaning, different methodologies and also a study based on the agile methodology formulation in practice. In addition to the literature the study is also based on a survey over a number of different companies in Sweden. The reason why we have chosen this topic is that throughout our three-year education we have studied the agile approach and also tried to apply all the agile methods in various projects. We have also noticed that this approach is becoming more popular to use in the business world. We have tried to explore what the agile really means, both as an agile approach itself and what it means for companies. The results obtained from our interview with companies have shown a very positive view on the agile thinking and they advocate a bright future for it. The agile manifesto which is the basic pillar of the agile thinking will guide these companies much more in the future.
