Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This is a case study that researchedjournalists on the news editor Sydsvenskan. The thesis contains a netnographic methodand qualitative semi structuredinterviews. Qualitative interviews have investigated how journalists handle the credibility of publishing news on Facebook, as well as how they work to increase their credibility and to investigate journalists' changing work situation as technology evolves. Netnographic method has been used to find tensions and similarities between the results of the interviews and Sydsvenskan's Facebook account. The conclusion that can be drawn from this thesisis that journalists do not see their perceived credibility as a problem and that journalists are positively tuned to Facebook. However, there are differences of opinion between respondents about whether Facebook's two-way communication is the right way to make conversations with the reader. The result also shows that they do not work actively to increase their credibility.
