The potential of L-systems is explored by procedurally generating patterns for use as video game content. By procedurally generating content for video games, the development costs of game development can be significantly reduced. An artifact in the form of a tower defense game is developed and tested to evaluate the generation algorithm. The algorithm was successful in generating a wide range of pattern and user feedback indicates a high level of perceived variation. The algorithm is highly customizable and could have applications in various game content such as particle systems or weapons
