Artikeln belyser uppkomsten av en popmusikrörelse i det forna DDR och hur den mottogs av staten och dess representanter. Men också de spänningar som uppstod inom det statsbärande socialistpartiet analyseras.

The article deals with the emergence of a pop music movement in the former GDR during the 1960s and how the state reacted on this movement. It point out the gebnerational tensions wiithin the ruling socialist party.
