Although lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning and intersexual movements has made progress throughout the world there are still some areas that need to be strengthened. One of those areas is the implementation of lgbtqi in the school enviroment. Previous research concludes that teachers rather let the students' parents talk with the students about different opinions and thoughts about gender. This is mainly because the teachers do not feel that they have enough education about the area. This study presents the thoughts of some teachers in Sweden, through a survey which was shared in different facebook groups for teachers and educators.
We gathered 39 answers through our online survey. The result of the survey showed that 34 participants express that they are comfortable to encounter with the lgbtq cumunity however 21 participants also express that they simultaneously are in need of more education to expand their knowledge to discuss and dissolve problems within the lgbtq area. Both the answers of the survey and the result of the previous research were used to make a conclusion. The empirical data from this study and previous study showed that teachers were willing to include lgbtq in their courswork, however some expressed that the lack of education stopped them from doing so.
