Abstract [sv]

Nyckelord: Svininfluensa, nationell diskurs, subjekt, kunskap, motstånd

Abstract [en]

Aim: to analyse and to compare three Facebook-groups’ and the nationonal health-care agencys’ way of talking as instances in the construction of the swineflu as a national discourse. Main objective: To answer the question: Can the discontentment and the distrust regarding the swineflu be seen as a resistance against the position as nationalized subject? Method: I identified the national health-care agencys and the Facebook-groups as the sending and receiving instances of the swineflu as a national discourse. From there I chose to see the plans for pandemic prevention of the National Board of Health and Welfare and the discussions in the Facebook-groups as the starting point and the reception of the swineflu as national discourse. By doing so I made possible the study of if and how the actualization of the pandemic situation could be seen as a resistance against the position as nationalized subject. The analysis was carried out by identifying the main themes of the Facebook-groups, and by a comparison of how these themes functioned in the plans for pandemic prevention. Main result: The study showed that the Facebook-groups could be seen as resisting the actualized subject-position, but that this resistance at the same time was formulated in accordance with the structure that in the plans for pandemic prevention functioned as the starting point for the creation of the pandemic as a national discourse. Keywords: Swineflu, national discourse, subject, knowledge, resistance
